As Patricia Heaton steps again into the world of All people Loves Raymond for Monday evening’s extremely anticipated reunion, there’s a surreal mixture of nostalgia and renewed perspective. The laughter is similar, the chemistry clicks immediately, however the lady returning to set carries a deeper sense of formality—particularly in the case of magnificence.
“When I think back to the original show, I don’t necessarily remember specific products,” Heaton shares when requested concerning the on-set glam notes for beloved Debra Barone. “But I do remember a ritual! On the show, I always had a lotion on my bedside. In any ‘going-to-bed’ scenes, I made my character’s ‘thing’ to apply hand lotion. I actually incorporated that into my own life. I like to use something lightly scented—why not? On my bedside now: Farmhouse Fresh Sweet Tea Hand Cream.”

Reuniting with individuals who helped form such a formative chapter of her profession has additionally prompted Heaton to revisit her present magnificence lineup—the issues that hold her feeling recent, energized and camera-ready. One new love: red-light remedy. “I have a mask I use two or three times a week for about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s become this really calming part of my routine.”
A current go to to a Beverly Hills dermatologist added one other layer to her routine. “He talked about the importance of cell turnover, so I started using C of Change Peel Pads at night,” she says. “They have 2% salicylic acid, so not too harsh.”
And whereas Heaton embraces the knowledge that comes with time, she’s by no means been extra open to including a bit glow. “As I’ve gotten older, I’m finding the benefit of adding a little dewy finish to my skin. In real life, after I do my makeup, I pop a little light-catching Wonder Balm by Laura Geller to the tops of cheeks, tip of nose and chin. My fave shade is Honey Haze because it’s a little warm-toned. I feel like that mimics a sun glow, year-round. Obsessed!”
After all, magnificence has at all times been a group effort, particularly when reunion cameras are ready. That’s the place her longtime make-up artist, Brett Freedman, is available in. “I’ve worked with Brett since 1998 during a photo shoot when Raymond was in its second season. We have a shorthand when it comes to glam. It all starts with the outfit. If it’s a suit, sometimes we like to amp it up with a smoky eye. We’re collaborative, and I actually like the fashion and glam element to being an actress. It’s part of it, so I give it time and energy.”
But, as Heaton revisits her on-screen previous, her off-screen current has by no means felt clearer. “Real talk: I quit drinking seven years ago,” she shares. “Since, it’s interesting how it’s changed the way I interact at events and the post-event vibes. There’s a clear end time now. I think when I was having a social drink or two, I’d get a little loose and maybe stay a touch longer than probably what was smart, considering my next morning. Nowadays, generally, my husband and I will swap stories on the ride home, and then it’s time to get in our comfies and chill.”

“I’ve worked with Patricia since 1998,” echoes superstar make-up artist Brett Freedman forward of the reunion filming. “What a fun night of old and new friends!” Forward, he shares the glam 411 on her search for the flashback night:
SKIN PREP: “I had Patrica use FHF’s Timescape Facial Polish every other night a week before the show. I wanted to push her cell turnover to reveal the most baby-soft skin possible!”
REFRESH: “Before moisturizing, I like to give the skin a mist to have some sheer hydration so the moisturizer has something to lock in. Super Lettuce Facial Tonic to the rescue! So refreshing and wow, does it get the skin ready.”
MOISTURE: “Patricia has been traveling, so I used FHF’s new Cactus Cloudsilk Peptide Serum. Six peptides give a gorgeous retexture to dry skin. AND it’s fantastic under makeup.”
BASE: “Once Patricia’s skin was prepped, I used Laura Geller’s Baked Balance-n-Brighten marbleized foundation in Light. This baked cream base is gorgeously buildable.”
EYE CREAM: “Pro Insight: I actually dab FHF’s Firmtastic Eyes Serum OVER makeup. It’s so sheer and helps the makeup move with the skin flawlessly.”
EYESHADOW: “I wanted to give Patricia’s eyes pop…but in neutral, soft pop. I used Laura Geller’s Delectables 14 Madison Ave. Mattes. Shades: I used Tailored from lash line to brow bone as a brightening base. I then swept the chocolate-y Prestige in Patricia’s crease and tightly along her bottom lash line. I then popped her arch with a touch of Elegance just under her brow.”
LIP PREP: “I’m obsessed with Sweet Cactus Pear Lip Drench; I know it’s a lip sleep mask, but I like to do a couple layers while I glam to really give the lips a pop of hydration! Oh, and it gives lips a little lift in natural color that works great under any lip color.”
HIGHLIGHT: “To give Patricia’s cheeks and eyes a light-catching highlight, I used Laura Geller’s Baked Gelato Swirl in Guilded Honey. I love the warm glow. I dabbed on apples of cheeks, tear duct, tip of nose and chin.”
