This Winter Is All About Haircuts With Character – Beauty

Construction and intentionality appear to be the secret for this winter’s trending haircuts. The professionals predict we’re shifting away from free-flowing, lax cuts and choosing extra architectural moments. This season, anticipate cuts that feel and look wholesome and have extra persona.

“We’re going to see haircuts shift toward fuller, heavier shapes with more weight throughout. The soft, wispy layers we’ve been seeing in the past few seasons are starting to fade out. People want their hair to feel healthier and fuller, especially as the weather gets colder,” says movie star hairstylist, Marc Ballance. He additionally predicts that many individuals who’ve been holding onto lengthy hair are going to lastly lower it into one thing extra refreshed and intentional. “Not necessarily short, but fuller and more balanced, with stronger perimeters and healthier ends.”

“This winter, I’m seeing a shift toward precision with personality haircuts that feel intentional, architectural and expressive rather than driven by trends. People are craving shapes that carry weight and identity,” says Vice President of Technical Training at R+Co, Adam Federico. “This season is about texture, strong technique and silhouettes that stand for something.”

Structured Shag

Federico says the structured shag is gaining momentum. “It blends razor-cut softness with controlled geometry, lightness through the interior, subtle disconnection and a crown with attitude, but still refined,” he says. “It’s a shape that can hold its own layered under winter clothing while keeping movement and air in the silhouette.”

Micro Bob

“Another key look is the micro bob with an edge that makes it clean, minimal and sculptural,” says Federico. “A collapsed nape, sharp line and a bit of internal rebellion. It’s a stripped-back cut that eliminates noise and lets the wearer’s character lead.”

The Lob

“A lob haircut is always in style,” declares movie star hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who notes it’s extra versatile than a bob. “If you want to keep your styling options open without committing to a super short chop, this may be a good style for you,” he says.

Gucci Bangs

“Bangs have been popular this year, from Birkin bangs to wispy bangs and more. I think we will see people continue to experiment with adding fringe to their looks,” predicts Giannetos. “I recently created the ‘Gucci Bangs’ for Demi Moore, which were long, piecey bangs that hit near the brow bone and frame the face. I think these are quite beautiful and trendy for the winter!”

Longer Face-Framing Items

Ballance sees face framing turning into longer and extra blended. “The cheekbone length pieces that have been trending are still nice, but I think we’ll see framing that sits lower, around the jaw or collarbone and connects more seamlessly into the overall shape,” he says. “It’s more refined, more wearable and suits winter styling better.”
